Dr. Robert Busey 
Dr Busey is a native of WNC, having grown up in the Asheville area. He graduated with honors from North Carolina State University in 1977, and received his DDS degree at the Medical College of Virginia in 1982. Upon graduation, Dr Busey opened his practice in the Fairview area. He and his wife Jan have been married for 32 years and have 4 children; Amy, Emily, Andrew, and Meredith. Dr Busey is a member of the First Baptist Church of Asheville where he serves as a deacon and Sunday school leader. His volunteer work includes regular services with ABCCM and medical/dental ministries in Honduras. His professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, NC Dental Association, and Buncombe County Dental Society. Dr Busey is a licensed pilot and enjoys skydiving, scuba diving, and racquetball.
Dr. Gevony Laughlin
Dr Laughlin was born in Fairmont, WV and lived there for 25 years until her move to Asheville. She graduated from West Virginia University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Communications. Dr Laughlin went on to West Virginia University Dental School and graduated with her DDS degree in 2005. She began her dental career at the Buncombe County Health Department, serving as a dentist and then as dental director until 2008. In April 2008, she joined Dr Busey's practice in Fairview, NC and has enjoyed (most) every minute since! Dr Laughlin enjoys providing comprehensive care to both adults and children alike. She stresses good oral hygiene and home-care to achieve optimum oral health. Dr Laughlin is affiliated with the American Dental Association, NC Dental Association, and Buncombe County Dental Society. In her spare time she enjoys most any outdoor activities, and in October 2008 completed the Marine Corp Marathon. She also pracitces yoga and is again training for the 2009 Marine Corp Marathon. Dr Laughlin has a 1 year old chocolate lab puppy named Clyde that keeps her very entertained!
Karen, Dental Hygienist
Karen is a native of Buncombe County and has lived in the Reynolds community for over 27 years. She graduated from AB Tech's hygiene program in 1977 and has worked with Dr Busey for 23 years. Karen's years of experience as a hygienist and dedication to staying up-to-date on the latest dental trends make her invaluable to the practice and her patients. In Karen's spare time she enjoys traveling and classic cars.
Judy, Dental Hygienist
Judy is another native of Buncombe County who has resided in the Fairview community for 36 years. She graduated from the first dental hygiene class at AB Tech in 1974, and has worked with Dr Busey for 17 years. Judy continually furthers her dental knowledge by attending continuing education courses. She also remains committed to her family of patients and their oral health needs. In her free time, Judy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and cheering on the Tar heels!
Amber, Dental Hygienist
Amber is a 6th generation native of Fairview who first began working with Dr Busey in 2002 as a dental assistant. In 2004 she entered AB Tech to earn her degree in dental hygiene and has since re-joined the practice. Since obtaining her hygiene degree in 2006, Amber has been committed to educating her patients on the importance of oral health and ways to achieve a beautiful smile. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and camping with her wonderful husband and three fantastic dogs.
Marie, Dental Assistant
Marie was born in Dayton, Ohio and lived in Wisconsin for 17 years before moving to Asheville in 2004. She has been a dental assistant for over 15 years and it is obvious she is skilled at her job. Besides being an asset to our dentists, Marie always exudes a pleasant and calm manner. She does her best to make even the most anxious patient feel relaxed. Marie has a son who lives in Minnesota, and she makes her home in Fairview with her husband, 2 cats, and dog.
Gaye, Dental Assistant
Gaye came to the mountains of Asheville 12 years ago from the Florida area. She graduated from assisting school in the mid 80's and has been working as a dental assistant for nearly 25 years. Gaye has been a great addition to our team and patients. She enjoys the variety that a job in dentistry offers and doesn't hesitate to take on extra duties. Gaye continually strives to make her patients as comfortable as possible. When away from work, she enjoys her dogs and is a huge sports fan.
Froso, Dental Assistant
Froso came to Asheville in 1999 from Corfu, Greece. She enrolled in the AB Tech Dental Assisting Program and graduated in 2002. Currently, Froso is assisting part-time while working to obtain her dental hygiene degree. She will graduate in May 2010, and looks forward to broadening her dental skills and knowledge while in school. In the meantime, she works hard at making her patients feel at ease while having their dental work completed. At home, Froso enjoys her German Sheppard named Eira, and her cat Maggie.
Amy, Office Manager
Amy was born in Fairview and has remained here to raise her family. In 1983 she became a patient of Dr Busey's, and then began working in the office in January of 1999. Amy was a perfect choice for the job as she received her business administration degree from AB Tech in 1997. She can quickly answer any of your insurance or billing questions, and is a friendly face many of our patients look forward to seeing. Outside of work, Amy enjoys her family, church, hiking, and sporting events. She has been married for 18 years and has 2 sons.
Lisa, Business Administrator
Lisa is also an Asheville native who graduated from AB Tech with a degree in dental assisting in 1983. She has worked in the dental field for 26 years and joined our practice 6 years ago as a business administrator. Lisa doesn't forget a name or face! This is just one of the many reasons she is so important to our office. She is also quite versatile and doesn't hesitate to resume as an assistant when needed in the back. In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years, her 2 sons, and her very large family.
Teresa, Business Administrator
Teresa joined our staff in September 2008 and is the newest member of our dental team. She came with both administrative and dental experience, and has been a welcome addition to both the practice and our family of patients. When not working, Teresa enjoys spending time with her loving husband Carey, her wonderful daughter Bailee, and their lazy dog Tess. She also loves to read, shop, watch movies, and keep up with her daughter's busy schedule.
